Ya gotta love it! The chef of this award-winning restaurant caught the cooking bug as an adolescent in a detention center allowed to watch only public television. He became enamored of Julia Child. The setting, ambiance and cuisine of this first-class eatery are equally as intriguing. If you've tired of tourist fare while in Hawaii, try this sensational alternative.

On our second trip to Maui, this inconspicuous gem was recommended by the conceirge at our hotel. It was nothing short of jaw dropping. The seared ahi and foie gras was mouth-watering - especially considering the fact that my husband doesn't like fish and I don't like foie gras. It easily makes it into the top 5 list of the best things I've ever eaten. My husband had the Kalua Duck, which was spot in in flavor, texture, and balance. I had one of the fish specials, and it was out of this world. Everything was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed yet romantic and upscale at the same time. This is the only restaurant I've ever been to where patrons were served like royalty in flip-flops. The entire experience only enhanced our trip, and for that we are grateful. Bravo to the management and staff.

This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten-maybe the best. The service was fantastic and the flavors were layer upon layer of nuance. Roasted beets, vanilla rice, & amazing seafood. My wife and I travel a lot and eat out a lot all over the U.S. and the world and this place was worth every penny of the $200 bill. Honestly, for food this good in a place like Maui, $200 seems like a bargin. You can't go anywhere in Napa for under $200 for example. We've certainly spent more and been disapointed (e.g., The Palm). If you are on Maui make a special trip. It's totally worth it.

We just had the best meal last week in Lahaina! We travel to Hawaii several times per year and this dining experience is definitely our favorite of all islands. The food is amazing, great portions, the service is impeccable. They have been voted Best Maui Restaurant 12 years in a row.

this restaurant has the best food. i loved it when he had the diamon head grill on oahu, and i loved the one on maui even more. i've eaten his diamond headh grill three times (which has since closed) and recently went to his lahaina grill -- each experience was better than the last. we had the ahi and steak, and it was so good. the vanilla jasmin rice was the best rice i've ever eaten, and the au gratin potatoes that accompanied the steak were awesome as well. the creme brulee was the perfect end for a delicious meal. it was so creamy and light, yet so rich in flavor. i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting maui.
